			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>In this week, I and two of my colleagues decided to tell some the little learners some thing about the farms. The two colleagues that took part with me during this assignment was Mr. Ahmed and Mr. Abdirazak, we decided that learners should take the lesson first in the class as a theory, I started first by telling the learners this article from farms, here is my article:</p>
<p><strong>Farms</strong></p>
<p>“The roots of farming began in the areas of present day Turkey and the Middle East about 10,000 years ago.  Most of the early civilizations began along major river systems. A farm is an area of land, including various structures, devoted primarily to the practice of producing and managing food (produce, grains, or livestock), fibers and, increasingly, fuel. It is the basic production facility in food production”.<br />
After giving the learner that concise idea of farms I showed them some pictures of local and foreign farms.</p>

<p>Mr. Ahmed was next and here is his saying in written:<br />

<p><strong>Farmers</strong><br />
“Farmer is a person who operates a farm grows; s/he cultivates by growing, often involving improvements by means of agricultural techniques. Although the farmers are unsophisticated people, but they play a very important role in the society because we know that most of thing that we eat is from farms”.</p>
<p>Mr. Abdirazak was the last and here is what he said:<br />

<p><span id="more-474"></span><strong>Suitable Land of Farms</strong><br />
Farms are area of land, including various structures, devoted primarily to the practice of producing and managing food (produce, grains, or livestock), fibers and, increasingly, fuel. It is the basic production facility in food production. An area of land devoted to the storage of a commodity or the emplacement of a group of devices.</p>
<p><a href="http://albaraka.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/4.jpg"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-477" title="4" src="http://albaraka.files.wordpress.com/2009/11/4.jpg?w=225&#038;h=169" alt="" width="225" height="169" /></a></p>
<p>At the end of the period I asked the learner to know more about the farms in home. Consequently, in the next day the learner came with different ideas and examples.</p>
<p>Hamda is one of the students with thoughts of that period. She told me that she asked her father more about farms and she said my father told me this:</p>

<p>“We as our family as a big farm that was used to belong to your passed grandfather, he bought that farm in 1975, he started the to work in his own farm with the help of your grandmother because at that time they didn’t have nobody to help them so they started in a small piece from the farm and started in wheat. So they farm and farm till me and your uncles and aunts born and grew up. Know dear Hamda farms is what the community based on because without farms there will be a food problem.”</p>
<p>Another learner called Abirahman told me that he his family was in his father farm in last weekend, and also he told me that he has a good idea from the farms. Here is his saying: “We have a big farm in the east of Hargeisa, it is big, and I and my family go there in every weekend’s holiday, in the farm us we get fun because in the farm we eat fresh fruits like lemons, mangoes, and other healthy fruits. Also in the farm we learn more and more about the plants and other living things. I like to go to our farm with my family.”</p>

<p>Finally, this lesson was useful to the learners because they got a good idea from the farms and its benefits. They also learned that the more they ask weather asking family of teachers that they will know more.</p>

<p>I chose this lesson when I realize that child should know  the important of water of water for live thing and how school  I we share it .</p>
<p><strong>Implementation and result </strong></p>
<p>After I explain the lesson for the class and give them more information about water and from where we get water and also for what we use water, and the different between the sea water and the other water.</p>
<p>Than I divided the class in to two group than I asked them question every one in each group started to give me different answers basic in what they understand from the lesson also they to other classes advices that will be useful.</p>
<p><strong>Integrating the lesson with I C T </strong></p>

<p>Children are expected to use I c t to develop skills across the areas of learning  for example talking ward process or to develop language and communication and vocabulary and writing and also build the imagination of child , I used to show the class the ENO lesson which give idea about how to share the water and to care for it.</p>

<p>-water is magnificent thing<br />
-we love water and admire our lakes and rivers<br />
-sea water is not clean it is very salty</p>

<p><em>“Water is very useful thing because without water human being animals and plants can’t grow well. My name is Abdi Alqani”.</em></p>
<p>Water help us in washing our hand our bodies without water we can not clean our cloths.</p>
<p>Water most be taken care for.</p>
<p>We can save our water for future generation in many ways without reducing our comfort of life.</p>

<p>In the end of the lesson I reward a certificate for those how clean their hand every they use water cause we use water to clean our hand.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><br /><p>On the 29 October 2008 the presidential palace (UNDP) compound in Hargeisa. The Ethiopian Embassy were bombed.</p>
<p>The president of Somaliland to day participated in a morning ceremony held in Hargeisa. The president sends his condolences and sympathies to the families of those innocent people killed and affected by these heinous attacks. The president condemned those nonsense bombings and stated that every thing will be done to fight against the terrorists and who who were responsible for the attacks.</p>
<p>I (Emma) and the rest of the group in Stockholm College feel deep sympathy with the children Huda and Hana Dahir with mother, rest of family and friends. We will do our best to support and feel with you. We also feel sympathy with all victims. </p>
<p>We are very happy and grateful for our cooperation in teacher training. I want to say extra much thank you to teachers, parents and children. Your examples show collaborative and creative examples in learning. </p>
<p>I am very proud over all those examples that we can show from our cooperation, local and global! Thank you so much. </p>

</strong>Helped me by improving my level and imaging to do my job very well. Aid me to find the ways that I reach my lesson to them</p>
<p><strong>Social:<br />
</strong>This course help me to improve my relation between me and their parents and my student so now I know them very well   from their story and pictures</p>
<p>Also the parents now play important role in the school coz they call me to know the level of their student or to disuse me in their lesson</p>

<p><strong>Material</strong><br />
Aid me to discover their character and thought should help me to use my imaginations and my thought to reach information to them.<br />
Develop my level to research any ways that help me to do my lesson well</p>
<p><strong>Tutor:</strong><br />
She helps me and be patient to produce teachers like us to aid our selves and our country.</p>
<p>Urge me to discover many ways that help me to reach my thought, so it was a challenge to my self and now I can do that without any fear.</p>
<p>Also she help me to exchange in formations between us which urge us to work like team, so thank u for your help and support EMMA.</p>
<p><strong>Professional:</strong><br />
Beside my experiences I have certificate that help me in my job. In future I like to train other teachers to feel that I can act what I learn.</p>
<p>Also now I can give other teachers advises and help without any stress coz I have good back ground that will help me in future by this wonderful course that I hope every one can use it very well</p>
<p>And finally I want to tell u that it is a appreciate chance for us and our country to be developed, so thanks for every things that give us to help to improve our levels and we must use this chance very well</p>
<p>In fact I face some problem in unit 1, coz it was new course and I did not know how I do my homework or solve the assignments</p>

My Tutor of these two units was Emma Hedland who tried her best to complete these two units for  us .I appreciate you Emma how you always encourage us to complete this programme  successfully and fruitfully .I hope you will see fruits of work you have done some day in the near future.</p>
<p><strong>Problems</strong><br />
There were  some problems during the course such as lack of internet connections we encounter sometimes and inadequate computers.</p>

<p>these students integrating the lesson with ICT with help of ICT teacher.</p>
<p><strong>Result</strong></p>
<p>Learning is primarily a social activity and participation in the social life of the  school is the central for learning to occur .social participation is the main activity through which learning occurs. Social activity and participation and parents interact with their children and through these interactions children acquire the behaviors that enables them to become effective members of society.</p>
<p>The establishment of fruitful collaborative and co-operative atmosphere is an essential part of school learning .The social collaboration can boost students achievement, provided that the kinds of interactions that are encouraged contribute.</p>
<p>Finally social activities are interesting in their own right and help to look student involved in their academic work. Students work harder to improve the quality of their products [ essays , projects, artwork etc] when they know that they will be shared with other students.</p>

<p><strong>Objectives</strong></p>
<p>•	To indentify the meaning of pollution<br />
•	To describe polluting agents in air , water and soil</p>
<p>First of all I have chosen this lesson because it is directly connected to the Somaliland curriculum specially book science for grade 6. for example it supporting the children to describe how water ,air ,and soil pollution and human health are interdependent  each other .</p>
<p><strong>Implementation process and result</strong><br />
The children have been working in pairs. towards the middle of the lesson  I drew the class together and invited each pair to pose questions arising from the work that they want  answered to help them progress  with the task</p>

<p>Then I organized the pairs into larger groups so that they can swap their questions. The children answer each other’s questions and identify those that they are unable to answer.</p>
<p>Then I collected the questions and planned to share the un answered questions with the class in the final plenary</p>
<p><strong>Integrating the lesson with ICT</strong></p>
<p>Teaching often involves modelling for example providing children with a pictorial representation to support their thinking or to generate ideas or to show them how to present work or how, for example to deconstruct text. Including children’s own working in this process provides a ready and meaningful context from which to progress and extend their learning .It allows children to learn how they can evaluate what is successful and how to improve by a mending and adapting their work with ICT, children’s work can be scanned in displayed and annotated as part of the modelling process. So ICT teacher Mohamed Eid helped me and took part with me to integrate ICT with shows and exhibitions.</p>

<p><strong>Then the children write and painted the following stories about health and environment</strong><br />
Air is an important in our lives .It contains the oxygen which we need for respiration. However air can easily be polluted by smoke of factories and cars . The smoke contains gases like carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide which are harmful to our respiratory system. When untreated sewage containing faeces and urine are released into rivers and other water sources also can pollute the environment. So , certain human activities have drastically change the environment by improperly disposing large amounts of harmful chemicals.<br />

<p>When it comes to environment and health those two are usually together . our environment affects us all ,if environment is not clean people get sick because forests are oxygen tanks .In clean forests people always breathe freely this air so clean and easy to breathe and when heart gets fresh air ,it will beat and keep us alive.<br />
